InsureMe History

InsureMe is the creation of visionary insurance agent Tim McTavish. Tim thought it should be easier for consumers to find the right insurance. With that idea, a 386 computer with a monochrome monitor, and a cramped condo in the Denver suburbs, InsureMe was born.

Fifteen years and an information revolution later, InsureMe has become an indispensable online resource for insurance shoppers. The company now employs 70 talented individuals and has since moved out of Tim's condo. (So has Tim.) InsureMe's mission has remained constant: Helping people find the right insurance.

In February of 2008, InsureMe was acquired by Bankrate, Inc. The Bankrate companies include Bankrate.com, Interest.com, Mortgage-calc.com, Nationwide Card Services, Savingforcollege.com, Fee Disclosure and InsureMe. Each of these businesses helps consumers make informed decisions about their financial matters. The Bankrate website provides information about many personal finance issues including banking, investing, taxes, debt management and college finance.
