Overview:

Even though the Hartford AARP name is well known, the relationship underneath the name is not. The AARP is a non-profit organization that was created to support people over 50 years of age. One of their programs is to help their members find insurance, so participation in this offering requires membership in most states. The insurance is provided by the Hartford as an approved provider of car and home insurance.

The unique relationship between the two companies helps AARP members by providing them with research and education to continually improve quality of life issues for older Americans. Some of the unique benefits include a team focused on gerontology to support members of AARP, service tailored to older Americans, and the unusual commitment to renew insured members’ policies every year.

The Hartford Financial Group has provided insurance to Americans for almost 200 years.

The AARP Automobile and Homeowners Insurance Program has joined forces with the Hartford to provide AARP members with insurance offerings. This program has been in operation for more than 20 years and an agreement is in place to extend the offering until 2020.
