Consumers Have Many Ways to Save on Auto Insurance Rates
Many consumers may not be aware of just how many ways there are to save money on auto insurance rates.
A recent report by Motley Fool cites some of the savings options, which can vary for consumers depending on their age, employment and automobile equipment.
For example, the report notes that insurers are often inclined to offer lower rates to people who have things like ABS brakes, daytime running lights, anti-theft devices and passive restraint systems in their vehicles.
People who are over 55 and retired, or over the age of 65 may also find that they are eligible for a lower-cost premium. For those still in the work force, the financial news website adds that people in the military, federal government employees and those in various professional groups could be eligible for discounts as well.
Separately, a consumer column on TulsaWorld.com advises people to shop around and to be aware of factors such as their vehicle model's safety record and theft statistics.
Many consumers also find that they can get low auto insurance rates based on factors like a clean driving record, a high credit rating, or driving less than a certain number of miles per year.
