One good way to protect your low cost car insurance is to avoid causing accidents by showing courtesy and respect for other drivers on the road.
According to AAA Michigan, more than half of all fatal car crashes involve some form of aggressive driving, which can include things like speeding, tailgating, yelling obscenities and trying to run other drivers off the road.
The organization cites 2008 survey results showing that more than 80 percent of respondents see aggressive driving as a serious safety problem, although 60 percent in the same survey acknowledged that they are also inclined to lose their temper over drivers who do things like driving too slow or failing to signal.
With that in mind, AAA Michigan reminds motorists to decrease the likelihood of an altercation by being sure to use their signals and to drive at appropriate speeds with sufficient distance between vehicles. Motorists are also advised to keep their hands on the steering wheel, since "obscene gestures often incite other drivers."
Overall, driving more slowly and remembering to relax and show courtesy can go a long way towards ensuring low-cost car insurance.
