Want Cheap Medical Insurance? Take Good Care of Yourself

One good way to pay cheap medical insurance rates is to take steps to avoid certain pre-existing conditions that can dramatically drive up the cost of premiums.

With that in mind, the American Heart Association is warning Americans that consuming too many foods with added sugars can contribute to problems like diabetes, heart disease and other health problems.

The organization recently suggested that women should limit their added sugar intake to about 25 grams per day, while men are advised to keep their added sugar consumption to below 37.5 grams per day. This amounts to about 6 teaspoons a day for women and 9 for men. In contrast, the average American is said to currently consume 22.2 teaspoons per day, and the average soda contains about eight teaspoons of sugar.

Soft drinks are said to be the most common source of added sugar for most Americans.

By taking some preventive measures such as sticking to a proper diet and getting sufficient exercise, Americans can do more than just protect themselves from serious medical conditions. They can also make it more likely that they pay cheap medical insurance rates.
