Texting While Driving? Forget About Cheap Car Insurance
People everywhere know that one good way to maintain cheap car insurance is to avoid accidents caused by reckless activities like texting while driving.
However, some people haven't gotten the message, and with that in mind, a police department in Wales has produced an extremely graphic public service announcement to try to drive the message home.
The commercial has made headlines around the world for its depiction of a young woman who is texting while driving, only to cause a fatal accident that kills her friend and the parents of a young girl in another car. Little is left to the imagination, with blood and the sound of breaking bones included, as well as the young girl crying out asking why her parents will not wake up.
This ad has proven to be very controversial and as a result, it has been largely been seen on the internet. Still, the message seems to have gotten its point across judging by the strong media attention it has generated.
Overall, studies have found that texting can take a person's eyes off the road for up to five seconds at a time, creating highly unsafe conditions for drivers and others. The best way to stay safe and to maintain cheap car insurance is to simply not text while driving at all.
