Lifestyle Can Affect Cost of Life Insurance Quote
Consumers are being reminded that a wide variety of activities can impact the price of their life insurance quote.
The Illinois Department of Insurance recently marked Life Insurance Awareness Month by encouraging people to review the current policies and to understand how their lifestyles may influence their rates.
For example, diet and exercise are widely known as factors that can benefit life, as well as health insurance rates by holding off problems like heart disease and diabetes, as well as obesity. These things come into play in the questionnaires many people are required to fill out when they first establish a policy.
However, fewer consumers may realize that things like their occupation and family health history can also play a role in the cost of their premiums. Also, those who engage in activities that are considered riskier, such as sports like mountain climbing, may pay more.
"Balancing your familys budget and staying healthy go hand-in-hand," said Michael McRaith of the Illinois Department of Insurance.
By exercising and quitting smoking, among other things, people can go a long way toward paying less for a life insurance quote.
