Consider weather when seeking homeowners insurance leads

When seeking out homeowners insurance leads, one thing to consider is the expectation among many scientists that this winter will be worse than usual.

Scientists determined earlier this year that an El Nino was in effect over the Pacific Ocean, which affects weather in many parts of the country, including increased storm activity in some regions as well as flooding. Other places can experience increased drought conditions that raise the risk of fires.

With that in mind, a Bloomberg News report this week quoted Matt Rogers of Commodity Weather Group as saying that the current situation reflects a weak El Nino, which is widely associated with more severe weathers in the Northeast.

The report noted that El Nino conditions typically last for about 12 months.

With these factors in mind, this could be a good time to follow up on homeowners insurance leads when considering that many people in the coming months may find themselves filing claims and seeking coverage if the winter does indeed turn out to be a severe one.
