Shopping for Online Health Insurance? Eat Right and Save Money
When shopping for online health insurance, one important item to remember is how a proper diet can result in considerable financial savings and other benefits over time.
Healthcare professionals have long warned that most Americans do not follow a proper diet, let alone get sufficient exercise.
Now, the Centers for Disease Control is reporting new data which finds that not a single state is meeting public health goals for the consumption of fruits and vegetables.
Government objectives aim to see 75 percent of the U.S. population eating at least two daily servings of produce. However, only about 33 percent of the population is said to be eating fruit twice daily, while 27 percent eat vegetables regularly.
The CDC report noted that high school students are especially prone to a poor diet, with only 13 percent saying they eat vegetables twice daily.
Dr. William Dietz of the CDC noted that proper fruit and vegetable consumption can help hold off conditions like obesity and diabetes, which can shorten life expectancy while also contributing to higher costs for those shopping for online health insurance.
