Lots of Tickets? Say Goodbye to Low Car Insurance
When it comes to securing low car insurance rates, it's important to maintain the cleanest driving record possible, since every ticket can lead to higher costs for years to come.
This is especially the case when considering how easy it can be to get a ticket in some places. For example, a growing number of cities have used red light cameras to catch and ticket violators. Other cities have found innovative new law enforcement techniques to make roads safer.
West Virginia's WSAZ-TV reports on one local effort where police ride on school buses to help catch drivers who ignore the vehicles' stop lights. One police officer told the television station that people on cell phones are among the most regular violators.
The effort is reminiscent of one in other states where law enforcement officials have ridden along in 18-wheelers to catch drivers who operate unsafely around them, such as passing too closely and tailgating.
Overall, people who get ticketed, especially on a regular basis will find it much harder to secure low car insurance, underscoring the importance of keeping safe on the road.
