Quality Diets Crucial to Health

One of the best and easiest ways to get affordable life insurance quotes is with a healthy lifestyle. While making sure to consume a balanced diet and get regular exercise may seem easy, the nation's increasing weight problem proves otherwise.

Numerous health awareness programs have sprung up around the country aimed at improving people's diets. A survey by the American Dietetic Association (ADA) reveals that such efforts may be paying off.

Among the survey's findings, the majority of respondents correctly identified sweets and fats as the food group they are suppose to avoid. However, most participants said vegetables was the food group they were suppose to consume the most, instead of the correct answer which was grains.

Dr. Katie Brown, national director for the ADA Foundation, says families are moving their eating habits in the right direction.

"Families are making progress towards improving the quality of their diets, but there is still much work to be done to ensure that children and families are getting the adequate amounts of the right foods and nutrients," says Brown.
