DENVER--InsureMe, an online lead generator for insurance professionals, added another award to its repertoire. InsureMe took second place in Colorado Parent magazine's ranking of best companies for working families in the small business category.

InsureMe was honored at a luncheon at the Brown Palace Hotel in downtown Denver Friday afternoon. Editor of Colorado Parent, Diana Dietvorst, explained that finalists were evaluated in several areas including flexible work arrangements, childcare assistance, family assistance and support, health care benefits, economic security of employees' families, community involvement, management training and support of work/life issues.

The hotel's ballroom was filled to capacity with more than 200 guests entertained by the Denver Municipal Band and the Rocky Mountain Children's Choir. Roger Smith, a vice-president for the HCA Continental Division and HealthONE, provided the keynote address, "Work Life Effectiveness in Action."

"We try to stay on the cutting edge, thinking up new ways to help our employees lead balanced lives," said Human Resources Director Jeannie Milan. "We know that centered employees are more productive and help foster a healthy culture. And InsureMe's mission is to do the right thing, which means helping all its employees maintain a healthy work-life balance."

Founder and CEO Tim McTavish discussed his reasons for striving to create a culture that supports family life.

"Family is the backbone of society. It is where values get transmitted and where people find a haven of support and encouragement," he said. "As we strive to build up the family, not only do we strengthen our communities, but the family also returns the favor by giving us responsible, joy-filled employees. Everyone wins," he added.
